I just want everyone to know that we have the best quilt shop in western Nebraska called "Borders Quilt Shop" which is located in Sidney, NE. Sherry & Cindy, the owners, both are wonderful to answer questions, help select patterns and materials to get you going on a quilt top, table runner, wall hangings or what ever project you want to do.

They offer class's, beginners to advanced, quilt till you wilt nights, block of the month, and more! When you have finished w/your project they can quilt your item on a long arm machine named "Maggie" that is done with imagination, thoughtful insight and not a static computer program.

On Saturday September 19th, Sherry gave a class in paper piecing for a pattern called Desert Sky by the artist quilter Judy Niemeyer. What a wonderful experience I had learning a new technique in paper piecing! We are using batiks for the material, which is my favorite material to work with, in lights and darks to make the points stand out. Once this part is done, we will learn to do circles to piece the pieces together. I am in seventh heaven that my pieces have perfect points and can't wait to get them all sewed to continue on for the next step!
